ScienceWorkshop Analog DIN Connector Pinouts

What are the pin connections for the analog ScienceWorkshop sensors?

PASCO Solution:

All analog Science Workshop sensors have the same pinouts for their analog input DIN connectors:

  • SIG +: Analog Sensor Output (+)
  • SIG -: Analog Sensor Output (-)
  • + 5: + 5 VDC Power Input (> 100 mA)
  • GND: Power Ground
  • + 12: + 12 V Power (> 50 mA)
  • - 12: - 12 V Power (> 50 mA)
  • IN: analog input from interface (used only by the ScienceWorkshop 700 and 750 interfaces only.)

Non-voltage sensors should produce an output in the range of +/- 10 V when operated within specification. The maximum voltage that ScienceWorkshop voltage sensors (Voltage Sensor - CI-6503, Voltage Sensor (unshrouded) - UI-5100, Voltage Sensor (shrouded) - UI-5110) may measure is limited by the interface to the following values on the lowest (1 x) gain setting:

  • Maximum Voltage for ScienceWorkshop 300, 500, 700, 750 interfaces: +/-10 V (Earth ground referenced)
  • Maximum Voltage for the 850 Universal Interface: +/- 20 V (Earth ground referenced)

The output characteristics of analog ScienceWorkshop sensors are given in the table below. The relationship between the quantity measured by the sensor (x) and the out- put voltage (V ) is
