Tech Note 241 Detail

DataStudio Fonts - Dingy

Affected Products:

CI-6870C DataStudio Software (Single User)
CI-6871C DataStudio Software (Site License)

The DataStudio data point symbols are not nice triangles, squares, etc, but instead are weird dingbats (fingers pointing up, down, left, right, etc.).

PASCO Solution:
There are several reasons why the DataStudio fonts may not be correctly displayed:
  1. The problem may also result from the DataStudio Symbol Font not being installed: Under Windows 2000 or Windows XP, you must be logged in as an administrator when you install DataStudio in order for the DataStudio font to be copied into the Windows "Fonts" folder. Log in as an administrator and reinstall DataStudio.
  2. On Windows ME or previous versions, it is possible that too many fonts are installed. Delete nonessential fonts, especially nonessential symbol fonts.
  3. The computer's operating system may not support Unicode. If you are running WindowsME, Windows98, or previous versions of Windows, you will need to ensure that you have the latest patches and latest version of Internet Explorer from Microsoft in order to have adequate Unicode support.
