SPARK SLS "device was improperly installed".

Problem/Symptom:
Windows reports "device was improperly installed" when the SPARK SLS is connected.

PASCO Solution:

The SPARKvue software must be installed and run prior to connecting the SPARK SLS. If you have connected the SPARK SLS before running the SPARKvue software, then please follow the directions below:

  1. If another USB port to which the SPARK SLS has never been connected is available on the computer, then
    1. disconnect the SPARK SLS from the USB port and
    2. run SPARKvue and
    3. connect the SPARK SLS to another USB port.
  2. otherwise,
    1. disconnect the PASPort interface from the USB port,
    2. reinstall SPARKvue,
    3. run SPARKvue and
    4. connect the PASPort interface to any USB port.
