Ocean Optics Red Tide Spectrometer - SE-7196



The Red Tide couples a low-cost, high-performance 2048-element linear CCD-array detector with an optical bench that's small enough to fit into the palm of your hand. It has a wavelength range of 350-1000nm, and utilizes a detector with 650 active pixels giving one data point per nanometer.

Flexible Platform, Convenient Interface

The Red Tide is a preconfigured, off-the-shelf spectrometer where all of the optical bench options, such as grating and entrance slit size are already selected.  The Red Tide can be used with various Ocean Optics spectrometer accessories, light sources and sampling optics to create application-specific systems for various absorbance, reflection and emission applications.  With its small footprint (89.1 mm x 63.3 mm), convenient USB interface, and integration times as fast as 3 milliseconds, the Red Tide is a great tool for basic lab measurements.

  • How It Works

    In this Spectrometer System the SPARK Science Learning System or a computer running SPARKvue software controls the Ocean Optics Red Tide Spectrometer which detects the spectrum through a fiber optics cable using a 2048 pixel CCD linear array.  You can quickly display 2048 wavelengths as intensity, absorbance, transmittance, or relative irradiance.  Get complete spectrum scans in less than a second.

    Use the Ocean Optics Red Tide Spectrometer to detect the spectrum through  a fiber optics cable using a CCD linear array. See the unique patter of emissions from spectral tubes and other light sources, and measure light absorption and reflectance on a variety of surface coatings.
