In analyses using the Smart Carts, the following information can be helpful for instructors and students.

  • Resolution: 0.01 m/s2

Launcher Spring Constant: 0.93 lb-force/in OR 163 N/m

Approximate mass of cart (no accessories): 243 g

Axle rotational inertia without encoder: 294 gram square millimeters (rotational inertia of balls within bearing are not accounted for) actual value will be slightly higher.

Axle rotational inertia with encoder: is 348 gram square millimeters (rotational inertia of balls within bearing are not accounted for) actual value will be slightly higher.
