In this lab, students will examine red onion tissue for evidence of plasmolysis in the cells. Students will observe plant tissue in three solutions with different, unknown salt concentrations to determine which of the solutions has the highest concentration.

Student conclusions are tested using a conductivity meter. Finally, students will design an experiment that compares water potential within different plant tissues.
