The Capstone interface

The Capstone interface consists of a workbook page surrounded by palettes containing tools, displays, and controls used for data collection and analysis.

  1. Menu and Toolbar

    The Capstone menu includes common app functions, such as file open, save, import and export data, and undo. Also included are app-specific functions, such as display settings and Journal tools. Some functions are available as toolbar buttons below the menu.

  2. Workbook Page Tools

    The Workbook Page tools include tools to add pages, change page properties, and edit the master page. On the page tab, double-click to rename the page or click ✕ to delete the page.

  3. Tools Palette

    The Tools Palette includes tools to add interfaces and sensors, edit data properties, calibrate sensors, define calculations, define curve fit parameters, control accessories, and create programs.

  4. Controls Palette

    Use the Controls Palette to start and stop data collection, set the data collection mode, set the sampling rate, delete data runs, define start and stop conditions, and play back synchronized video.

  5. Displays Palette

    The displays provide multiple ways to visualize and analyze data. Add a display to the workbook page by double-clicking the display or dragging the display from the palette to the workbook page.

  6. Workbook Page

    Use the workbook page to customize layouts using displays from the Displays palette. When starting a new experiment, you can use the Entry Screen options to quickly set up an experiment. When creating a new page, you can use the Templates to create quick layouts.
