Product Summary
Students can predict weather changes long before they happen with the PASPORT Barometer/Low Pressure Sensor. This Barometer measures extremely small changes in barometric pressure (0.001 in Hg), allowing it to sense pressure changes from the floor to the ceiling, or changes in pressure when an open door is closed. This product includes quick-connect fittings and a tube kit for transpiration and other low pressure studies.
Applications
- Measure transpiration rates
- Measure osmosis and pressure changes inside a model cell
- Measure rates of enzyme catalyzed reactions
- Conduct weather experiments
- Measure changes in elevation
What's Included
- 1x Quick-connect fitting and tube kit for transpiration and other low pressure studies

Experiment Library
Perform the following experiments and more with the PASPORT Barometer/Low Pressure Sensor.
Visit PASCO's Experiment Library to view more activities.
Osmosis (PASPORT sensors)
Use a barometer/low pressure sensor to explore the concept of cell membranes and how water and other substances pass through a membrane through the process of osmosis. Note: This investigation has been updated for Wireless sensors...
Boyle's Law
In this lab, students use a low-pressure sensor and a syringe to determine the inverse proportionality between the pressure and volume of an enclosed gas.
Hydrostatic Pressure
In this lab, students use a low-pressure sensor to measure the static pressure at different depths in a column of water and use their data to determine the mathematical relationship between static pressure and depth in a fluid.
Transpiration (PASPORT sensors)
Use a PASPORT barometer/low pressure sensor to explore the effects of environmental factors such as air movement on the rate of transpiration. Note: This investigation has been updated for Wireless sensors in the Essential Biology...
