Coding with SPARKvue and Onboard Sensors

Searching for an easy way to introduce your students to coding? We've got you covered! This week on PASCO Live, the team will demonstrate how you can use SPARKvue to code with the onboard sensors in a smartphone. This simple activity is a hassle-free way for students to begin coding with absolutely no equipment other than their own smartphones, making it ideal for hybrid and remote learning models. Join us this week for a step-by-step demonstration, complete with instructions, sample code, and examples of onboard sensors that you can immediately begin utilizing in your course.

Explorations in Sound with Computational Thinking

Studies have shown that exposure to computer science concepts can hav e a lasting impact on students' career opportunities, but bridging the gap between science investigations and computational thinking activities is an evolving challenge for many educators. On this week's PASCO Live, we'll demonstrate how a simple sound investigation can be expanded to include key concepts in computational thinking. Join us this Thursday to ask questions, get answers, and discover how you can reinforce science standards while preparing students for a digital future.

Water Quality Testing and Analysis

Testing water quality and water hardness is probably easier than you think! Whether it be in the classroom, home or field, water quality investigations enable students to practice real-life science in a way that's accessible, safe, and impactful. On PASCO Live, join former educators, Barbara Pugliese and Roger Palmer, as they perform water quality tests on solution samples using a drop counter and conductivity sensor. They'll compare gravimetric and conductometric analyses and explain how water hardness investigations can be adapted for AP Chemistry, Chemistry and Environmental Science courses.

Physics Demos with the Smart Cart Demo Kit

When it comes to teaching physics, demos are a foolproof method for bringing about more "Aha!" moments. Whether they're struggling to conceptualize vectors, centripetal acceleration, or Newton's Laws, every student benefits from seeing physical concepts come to life. On this week's PASCO Live, former educator, Dan Burns will bring modern perspectives to traditional kinematics and dynamics concepts using the Smart Cart Demo Kit. With more than 15 demos in the manual, there's no telling what topics Dan will showcase!

Investigating Resonance in an Air Column

Join us this week on PASCO Live for an investigation into the resonance of sound in an air column. The team will use an air column, an analog sound sensor, and our Universal Interfaces to investigate resonance within the air column in real-time. During this demonstration, they'll use Capstone's FFT displays to identify the nodes in the resonating air column and discuss how you can do the same with your students. Don't miss this opportunity to ask our experts questions as they investigate resonance within an air column!

Lab Stations for Elementary and Middle School Science

Fostering a sense of curiosity in science can have a lasting impact on young learners' science literacy. Hands-on investigations, such as those provided with PASCO Lab Stations, allow students to explore the world around them using portable sensors and live data that mirror the tools used by scientists every day. On this week's PASCO Live, we are unboxing Lab Stations for Elementary and Middle School sciences. These dynamic stations can be used to perform engaging distance learning demonstrations, as well as hands-on group investigations within a traditional classroom setting. Join us this week for an introduction to PASCO's Elementary and Middle School Lab Stations!
