When coupled with powerful software tools, Wireless Sensors greatly improve the efficiency of student data collection and analysis. By automating data recording and graph displays, the combination quickly relays accurate data to students, allowing them more time to create and test mathematical models. In this session, we'll present multiple opportunities for students to develop models that explore important physics concepts, instead of simply confirming them. We will demonstrate this approach with labs involving constant acceleration, Newton's Second Law, the Atwood machine, the work energy theorem, and the impulse momentum equation. Lab handouts, teacher guides, and sample data files will also be provided.
