Tech Note 409 Detail

DataStudio causes an "Invalid Page Fault" while starting.

Affected Products:

CI-6870 DataStudio - Single User (English)

Problem/Symptom:
DataStudio causes an "Invalid Page Fault" while starting.

PASCO Solution:
There are two possible causes for this:
  1. Many of the function calls that DataStudio uses are not included in Windows 95. This can cause DataStudio to generate general protection faults or fail to connect to the interface. We recommend that you upgrade to a later version of Windows. If this is not possible, DataStudio 1.6.1 or earlier may still be used provided that you install Internet Explorer version 5 or higher, which updates many of the core operating system files, and then reinstall DataStudio. Alternatively, you may use your ScienceWorkshop interfaces with the ScienceWorkshop program.
  2. WavePort was installed after DataStudio was installed. See TechNote #382
