Tech Note 344 Detail

Multiple Driver Installations

Affected Products:

CI-6450 ScienceWorkshop 750 with SCSI Interface

Problem/Symptom:
Connecting a SCSI-based ScienceWorkshop 700 or 750 interface to a computer running DataStudio 1.7.2 (and later versions) on Windows XP results in multiple requests to install new hardware and associated drivers.

PASCO Solution:
  1. Set the SCSI ID dial, which is located on back of the ScienceWorkshop 750 interface, to any value other than 7. (If the value is set to 7, you will receive an unlimited number of requests to install a device driver for the interface.)
  2. Download this file. Decompress the file and run the enclosed file that is appropriate for your interface: "onelun 700" patches the registry for the ScienceWorkshop 700 interface and "onelun 750" patches the registry for the ScienceWorkshop 750 interface.
