- Download and install the latest drivers from Belkin for the USB Videobus.
Scroll down to the F5U206/207-MAC and click the Drivers link to download the Installer. Once the Installer is decompressed (usually to the Desktop) run the Installer to update any old files.
Copy the VideoPoint Capture program from the CD to your hard drive. It should only take 136 kb and the Read Me file is only 8 kb. These are the only two files you need. VideoPoint Capture can be copied directly, it does not need to be installed.
Run the VideoPoint Capture program. If no picture appears, go to the
Capture Options menu and select Video Settings. The Video Settings
window will appear.
- In the Video Settings click the drop down menu (typically it reads
USBVision) and select Source. On the Source screen the following settings
should be active, if not, click the setting and choose the appropriate setting:
Input: C-Video (if you are using the RCA jack) or S-Video (if you are using a S-Video cable)
Filter: I left this on TV, Laserdisk for live video. If you are using the camcorder to replay video, select VCR.
- From the drop down menu in the Video Settings window, now select
Compression. The video compression settings appear. Check that the
Compression is set to USBVision Component Video.
Click the OK button. You should now be able to display the video output of your camcorder. Note that you should have the Videobus capture device connected and ready to go before you run the VideoPoint Capture program or else it will not detect the VideoBus device.
