Spectrometer software screen turns black shortly after startup of the App on Windows.

Problem/Symptom:
Spectrometer software screen turns black shortly after startup of the App on Windows.

PASCO Solution:

The blackening of the screen is due to an older version of the video drivers for some computers. Updating the video drivers to the latest version should resolve the issue.

To update the video driver for your Windows machine.

  1. Select the start button for the operating system.
  2. Right click on the icon for the computer. Select Properties.
  3. On the next screen, select Device Manager
  4. Next, select Display Adpaters
  5. Right click on the adapter that is used on your computer. Select Update Driver Software
  6. Select Search automatically for updated driver software.

If the operating system is not able to find updates of the drivers for the Display Adapters, please go to the website for the manufacturer of your computer to look for links to update the drivers for your computer.
