PASCO Solution:
To keep from having to unplug and re-plug the CI-6759A PASCO USB/serial adapter every time that you start the computer, you must update the firmware on the CI-6759A adapter. This must be done on a PC, whether you will be using the adapter with a PC or a Macintosh:
  1. Disconnect any CI-6759A PASCO USB/Serial Converter or other PASCO interfaces from the USB ports of the computer.
  2. Install DataStudio 1.9.8.10 or later.
  3. Run DataStudio and select Create Experiment.
  4. Configure DataStudio to look for a PASport sensor:
    1. Click on the Setup button in the top toolbar of the DataStudio window.
    2. In the Experiment Setup window, click the Choose Interface button.
    3. Select PASport and click OK.
  5. Connect the CI-6759A PASCO USB/Serial Converter to the USB port.
  6. When prompted to update the Firmware of the CI-6759A converter, choose YES.
  7. Repeat steps 8 and 9 for all of the other CI-6759A converters that you wish to update.
(An updated CI-6759A can now be used on any computer running DataStudio 1.9.8r9 and work properly.)
  8. On all of the computers that will be using a CI-6759A converter configure DataStudio to look for the particular ScienceWorkshop interface that you have connected to the converter:
    1. Click on the Setup button in the top toolbar of the DataStudio window.
    2. In the Experiment Setup window, click on the Choose Interface button.
    3. Select the ScienceWorkshop interface model that you have connected and click OK.
