SCSI Card Installation

Affected Products:

What is the procedure for installing the Adaptec 2906/1505 SCSI Card for use with the Science Workshop 700 interface?

PASCO Solution:
  1. Carefully insert the card into a free PCI/ISA slot in your computer. Do not use the EZ-SCSI Lite software included with the Adaptec card.
  2. Connect the SCSI cable to either port on the back of the ScienceWorkshop 700 interface box. Connect the other end of the SCSI cable to the SCSI card. Place the terminator in the remaining SCSI port on the back of the interface.
  3. Turn on the interface before starting your computer.
  4. From the Control Panels folder, double click the "Add New Hardware" icon. Follow the on-screen directions.
  5. Let the wizard scan for new hardware devices. It should locate the SCSI card and the PASCO CI-6560 interface.
  6. Windows will alert you that the CI-6560 is an Unknown Device type and prompt you to specify a driver for it. There is no need to specify a driver for the CI-6560.
  7. When the installation is complete, restart your computer. Install the latest version of DataStudio or ScienceWorkshop (2.3.3) software. (ScienceWorkshop software is not supported on MacOS 10+ or DataStudio 1.8+.
  8. If the 700 interface is not recognized by the software, you should try the troubleshooting tips.
