Determine Heart Rate Using a Force Platform (Capstone)

How do I determine a heart rate using a force platform using PASCO Capstone? By using the changing normal force recorded from a force platform, the heart rate can be determined. The changing direction of blood as it flows through the aortic arch causes normal force felt by the force platform to decrease. The distance in time between these negative deviations for the normal force can be used to determine the heart rate of the subject standing on the force platform.
