Activities
01) Understanding Pressure
In this lab, students will use pressure and temperature sensors to determine how temperature, volume, and gas affect pressure.
02) Mole-to-Moles Ratio
In this lab, students will determine the ideal amount of sodium bicarbonate to completely react with 10 mL of 0.50 M acetic acid. Students will use these values to determine the mole-to-mole ratio in the balanced chemical equation.
03) Variable Volumes
In this lab, students will use pressure and temperature sensors to determine the volume of gas needed to fill three differently sized plastic bags.
04) Stoichiometric Calculations
In this lab, students will identify the concentrations and amounts of the reactants required to produce a specific amount of moles of products, without wasting any chemicals.
05) Reaction Rates
In this lab, students will use pressure sensors to determine how the stirring and concentration of reactants affect how fast the reaction between acetic acid and sodium bicarbonate occurs.
