Conservation of Mass

Students experimentally determine the amount of sodium bicarbonate in an antacid tablet based on the mass of carbon dioxide formed when the tablet reacts in water.

Supports NGSS Performance Expectation HS-PS1-7: Use mathematical representations to support the claim that atoms, and therefore mass, are conserved during a chemical reaction.
