In this lab, a single-shear test is performed on 1/8 inch diameter metal rods. The maximum force needed to shear the rod is measured and used to calculate the Shear Strength of the material. Tested materials include steel, brass, and aluminum.PreviewDownload
This metric/Imperial digital caliper (15 cm or 6 inch) measures to the nearest 0.01 mm (0.0005 inch). It features automatic power down and it includes a sturdy, protective plastic case.
Set of three each of 1/8" diameter aluminum, brass, and mild steel samples.
Perform shear test for a variety of wires with diameters of: 1/16", 3/32", 1/8", and 5/32".
This is the assembly-only version; measures force and displacement for various materials as the materials are stretched, compressed, sheared, or bent.
