Real and Virtual Images with Converging and Diverging Lenses

Students try to create real images with a converging lens at different object distances. They develop a hypothesis and test it with a converging lens with a different focal length. Using what they learned about converging lenses they experiment with a diverging lens. Students measure the focal length of a converging lens using the thin lens equation. They do the same for the diverging lens using a virtual object from the converging lens.
