About The Wireless Product Line

From individual sensors to complete Lab Stations, PASCO is committed to providing students and educators with specialized solutions for their evolving needs. This helpful page compares our Wireless Sensors, Lab Stations, and software to help you determine which solution is right for you.

Wireless Sensors

Our Wireless Sensors utilize hands-on engagement, live data reporting, interactive displays, and in-depth analysis features to immerse students in real-world science. They can be paired with standards-aligned PASCO experiments or integrated into existing curriculum to improve student learning outcomes.

Laboratory staples, such as the Wireless Temperature Sensor and Wireless pH Sensor allow students to automate tedious data collection, giving them more time to observe, document, and analyze experimental concepts. While other sensors, such as the Wireless Spectrometer and Wireless Smart Cart reduce the cost of high-level equipment to make college-level experiments accessible to high school students.

Connectivity and Charging

Our award-winning, Wireless Sensors utilize Bluetooth Low Energy to effortlessly sync with computers, Chromebooks, tablets, and smartphones. Syncing a classroom of PASCO wireless sensors is student-proof, thanks to our patented, proximity-based pairing technology. When students select the Bluetooth button in PASCO's SPARKvue or Capstone software, the wireless sensor closest to them appears first. They can also verify their sensor’s identity by comparing the ID code onscreen to the laser-etched identification code located on the sensor’s base. Together, these innovations enable large classes to quickly and easily connect sensors to their student devices, saving prep time and minimizing distractions.

Our wireless sensors consume minimal power, allowing their batteries to last throughout days or weeks of consecutive use. Most sensors include a charging cable, while others, such as the Wireless Temperature Sensor have a long-lasting, coin-cell battery. In both cases, our designs ensure that a sensor’s battery life doesn’t interfere with your students’ ability to learn.

Charging Stations

Wireless Sensor Charging Station

This versatile charging station can be configured to fit any size sensor by adding or removing partitions.

Lab Stations

PASCO Lab Stations are the easiest, most affordable way to equip your lab for phenomena-based investigations. From Elementary Science to High School Physics, we offer Lab Stations for every subject and grade level. Plus, every station is dynamically designed to support multiple learning models, including distance learning. Each Lab Station includes printed standards-based labs, corresponding sensors, coding extension activities, and a custom-cut Gratnells case for tidy storage. For more information, check out the comparison chart below or select a Lab Station to view its product page.

PASCO Experiment Library & Curriculum Support

Free Labs From the PASCO Experiment Library

The PASCO Experiment Library contains hundreds of free, standards-aligned labs designed to help you integrate sensor technology into your curriculum. Library searches can be filtered by subject, grade level, or part number, making it quick and easy to find an appropriate lab. Each lab is developed by our team of curriculum specialists and uploaded with modifiable supporting documents for your convenience.

PASCO Resources

Student Handouts, Data Files, and Videos

Labs in the Experiment Library include downloadable resources, such as modifiable Student Handouts containing background information, methods, and analysis questions; preconfigured Capstone data files or SPARKvue journals; and video recordings of the experiment and data collection process. Some experiments, such as those for AP Physics, offer three versions of the same lab, allowing you to choose a guided inquiry, student designed, or structured experiment.

Accessing Free Teacher Materials from the Experiment Library

In addition to student documents, every lab also includes a pdf of Teacher Materials. These documents generally include a breakdown of the experiment’s learning objectives, suggested prerequisites, a well-defined driving question, teaching tips, as well as pre- and post-lab discussion questions with answers.

To access the Experiment Library’s Teacher Resources, please sign in to your PASCO account or create an account.

Software: SPARKvue or Capstone?

Sparkvue Software Logo

SPARKvue® is our easy-to-use, cross-platform software solution. Intuitively designed with a student focus, SPARKvue is a highly visual learning platform with convenient analysis tools and easy-share features. SPARKvue is for all sciences and grade levels and focuses on ease of use for common data collection, visualization, and analysis tasks. The SPARKvue user experience is consistent across all platforms, allowing students to use computers, laptops, tablets, Chromebooks, and smartphones to collect, visualize, and analyze experimental data anywhere. The SPARKvue app is free for Chromebooks, smartphones, and tablets, while SPARKvue for computers and laptops must be purchased through our website.

Capstone Software Logo

PASCO Capstone™ is our advanced, college-level software solution. It includes powerful analysis tools and advanced features, such as a circuit emulator, signal generator, digital oscilloscope, pre-configured and custom photogate timers, and more. Capstone’s robust capabilities can cause a slightly steeper learning curve but offer greater flexibility for those who require high-level data software. We recommend Capstone for advanced users, especially those in physics or engineering disciplines. Capstone is available for Mac and PC and can be purchased or downloaded as a free trial from our website.

Choosing a Solution That’s Right for You

We suggest comparing individual sensors, Sensor Packs, and Lab Stations based on your school’s needs. If you are looking to add a specific experiment to your curriculum or require class sets of a sensor, then you may consider individual sensors or Sensor Packs. If you are new to sensor technology or would like a complete, subject-specific solution with instructional support, then we recommend using Lab Stations.

Complete Solution: Lab Stations

Lab Stations are the easiest, most efficient way to equip your class for group experiments. Each Lab Station includes printed, standards-based labs, corresponding sensors, coding extension activities, and a custom-cut Gratnells case for tidy storage. From Elementary Science to High School Physics, we offer Lab Stations for every subject and grade level. Plus, every station is dynamically designed to support multiple learning models, including distance learning. For more information, check out the comparison chart below or select a Lab Station to view its product page.

Lab Stations for Distance Learning Models

Lab Stations include everything you need to perform standards-aligned experiments in your classroom, lab, or home. In addition to facilitating hands-on learning, Lab Stations also support hybrid and distance learning models. Each Lab Station includes detailed video recordings of the included experiments, teacher resources, and software data files that can be shared with students. As they watch the video from home, students use the provided data file to follow alongside the experiment. After the video is finished, they can complete their own data analysis and summary using PASCO software.

Solutions by Sensor

If you are looking to incorporate a specific experiment or topic into your course, then we suggest purchasing individual sensors or Sensor Packs. If you are not sure which sensors are required for an experiment, then we suggest searching the Experiment Library for a similar activity. After selecting a similar experiment, you can use the materials list to determine which sensors are required.
