What's New?

This video walks you through all of the upgrades and improvements in SPARKvue 4.0 starting with the new Welcome Screen all the way through the new options to share files once an activity is complete.

SPARKvue "How Do I" Videos

The "How Do I" series was created to address very specific questions about how to use PASCO equipment and solutions in the classroom. Here we are taking a look at what we expect to be some of the most common questions around SPARKvue 4.0. Is there something about SPARKvue 4.0 (or any other PASCO product) that you'd like a video on? Send your suggestions for future "How Do I" topics to us at

What is that screen that launches initially?

On your first launch of SPARKvue 4.0 you'll be greeted with a help screen that shows the important changes and also provides a link for more information. It will only appear the first time 4.0 is run, but can be accessed again in the the navigation menu.

How do I pair Wireless Sensors in SPARKvue 4.0?

In this video we run through connecting Wireless Sensors to your device in SPARKvue 4.0, setting up a graph for data collection, an how to record multiple runs of data.

How do I select individual measurements when using sensors that have multiple measurements?

Many of our Wireless Sensors (such as Smart Carts, Weather w/ GPS and more) are capable of multiple measurements. In this video we discuss how to only select the measurements that you are interested in collecting data for and how to change them if need be.

How do I show or Hide the Live Data Bar?

One improvement in version 4.0 is the Live Data Bar that is constantly showing the readings of whichever sensors are selected. In this video we'll show you how to turn this option on and off as well as how to change the number of digits displayed past the decimal for each sensor reading.

How do access the tools through the Live Data Bar menu?

The new Live Data Bar is more than a display of the reading of each selected sensor. It also provides a menu where you can zero a sensor, access the calibration menu, and more.

How do I start data collection using SPARKvue 4.0?

In SPARKvue 4.0 the start button has been shifted to the middle of the screen for easier access. Also, only the current run of data shows by default. To view other runs of data, simply click on the check boxt next to the name of the run within the legend.

How do I bring a run of data to the front?

When multiple runs of data are collected and shown on a graph, it can useful to bring the run you are interested in to the forefront to make visualization and analysis easier. This video will show you exactly how to do that.

How do I collect mixed data in SPARKvue?

Many experiments (such as Boyle's Law - used here as an example) use a mixture of sensor data and user entered data. In this video we walk you through exactly how to accomplish that task.

How do I use the Hardware Setup Button?

Fast access to measurement and sensor configurations (and calibrations) in SPARKvue 4.0 is made possible through the Hardware Setup Button. Learn the ins and outs of this new feature in this short video.

How do I access the Calibration Menus?

SPARKvue 4.0 makes it even easier to calibrate sensors when needed. This can be done through the Live Data Bar or through the Hardware Setup Button. In this video we show you both methods.

How do I initiate Remote Data Logging?

The Welcome Screen has simplified the process of setting up a sensor for long term datalogging without connection to a device. Here we walk you through how to configure a Wireless Sensor into logging mode.

How do I retrieve Remotely Logged Data?

After a Wireless Sensor has been used for a remote logging experiment you'll need to download that data to a device so that it can be visualized and analyzed. See exactly how the process works in this video.

How do I share files and images in a mobile environment?

SPARKvue 4.0 has made sharing files and data easier than ever before. This video specifically addresses how to share SPARKlabs, including to apps such as Google drive, DropBox, or OneDrive from your device.

Moving from SPARKvue 3.2?

What's Changed?

If you have been using SPARKvue 3.2 or earlier, you'll want to watch this series of videos to seamlessly transition to SPARKvue 4.0. Some options and features have simply been moved to slightly new locations, and some interactions have changed more significantly. Either way, in just a few minutes you'll have everything you need to move forward.
