ROSEVILLE, California—PASCO® scientific’s SPARKvue™ science learning software took top honors at the 2010 Software Information & Industry Association’s 25th CODiE Awards dinner held May 24 at the Ed Tech Industry Summit in San Francisco. SPARKvue won in two categories: Best Education Solution for Mobile or Hand-held device and Best Education Use of a Technology Device.
Winning products are selected from a pool of nominees that undergo rigorous review by analysts, journalists and other selected judges with subject matter expertise, and are then peer-reviewed by SIIA member companies, who cast the final votes in each category. This year 100 products from 82 companies were selected as finalists from more than 458 nominations submitted by 250 companies.
“PASCO is honored to accept these awards in categories that are particularly meaningful because they focus on both mobility and usefulness—both hallmarks of SPARKvue,” said Wayne Grant, Ph.D., chief education officer at PASCO. “SPARKvue is designed for use with most digital technologies commonly found in classrooms. These technologies include PASCO’s all-in-one, mobile SPARK Science Learning System™, Windows and Mac-based computers, interactive whiteboards, netbooks, and handheld devices such as the iPod® touch and iPad™. SPARKvue enables teachers and students to create science learning environments for real-time measurement, data visualization and analysis that students can use wherever science happens, inside or outside the classroom.
”The CODiE Awards continue to recognize those companies providing the best new technology products and services across a broad array of industries," said SIIA President Ken Wasch. “Winners are a prolific testament to the power of technology to deliver innovative solutions to businesses and consumers. SIIA warmly congratulates all of the winners and nominees of the CODiE Awards, whose innovation is essential for continuing America's leadership in the global knowledge economy.”
