Three Science Education Solutions from PASCO Scientific are Finalists in the 2015 SIIA CODiE Awards
PASCO’s CODiE Award honor comes on the heels of recognition in the 2015 Bett Awards, an international program recognizing excellence in education technology
PASCO Scientific, a leader in 21st century science education, today announced that three of its products have been named finalists in the 2015 SIIA CODiE Awards. The SIIA CODiE Awards are the premier award for the software and information industries, and they have been recognizing product excellence for 29 years.
One of eight finalists in the Best Education Cloud-based Solution category, PASCO’s SPARKvue is a powerful, yet easy to use science application that delivers data collection, visualization, and analysis tools within a content-rich, standards-based science learning and sharing environment. With SPARKvue, students are able to think and act like real scientists as they design and carry out experiments, analyzing their data to prove their hypothesis right or learn why it was wrong.
The PASCO Spectrometry and MatchGraph apps are finalists in the Best Educational App for a Mobile Device category. Working with PASCO’s award-winning Wireless Spectrometer and many other spectrometers on the market, the Spectrometry App supports experiments including emission spectrometry, absorbance spectra analysis of colored solutions and plant pigments, Beer’s law determination of unknown concentrations, and kinetics experiments, all integral in teaching and learning physics, chemistry, and biology. MatchGraph is a state-of the-art graphing app that allows students to gain a deeper understanding of how to interpret graphs by watching their motion graphed in real time.
This year’s CODiE Awards program features 28 education categories. All winners will be announced on May 5 in San Francisco at the Education Industry Summit.
“For the past 50 years PASCO’s mission has been to help students ‘think science.’ Our technologies are at the heart of a 21st century science education program, enabling inquiry-based learning and exposing students to the tools of modern science and technology careers,” said Steven Korte, CEO of PASCO. “It’s incredibly gratifying to know that our science education solutions are considered among the absolute best in helping teachers bring science to life to engage and prepare students for the wide variety of STEM careers that are so important for our nation’s economic success.”
