Three STEM Classroom Solutions from PASCO Scientific Win Awards of Excellence in Tech & Learning Magazine’s 34th Annual Recognition Program

PASCO Scientific is the only company to win three or more awards in the new products category

Three state-of-the-art science teaching and learning solutions from PASCO Scientific have been recognized as outstanding and “innovative applications that break new ground” in the annual Awards of Excellence competition sponsored by Tech & Learning magazine. The winners were chosen from among hundreds of entries of software, hardware, network, app and Web products designed to help educators improve student learning.

Two of PASCO’s award winners — the PASCO Smart Cart and Wireless Temperature Sensor — come from the company’s new line of wireless technologies, which allow students to spend more time exploring and performing experiments that were difficult or impossible before. Embedding sensor technology directly into the cart, the PASCO Smart Cart wirelessly transmits position, velocity, acceleration and force data directly to a computer or mobile device via Bluetooth®. The Wireless Temperature Sensor, the first of 10 wireless products released this year, allows students to access instant temperature readings and continuously monitor, log and plot temperature data in a variety of applications.

The third of PASCO’s winners is the ErgoBot, a robotic motion system that that bridges the gap between curriculum and equipment, and between science and engineering. The device communicates wirelessly with any computer or mobile device, displays position and velocity in real time, and connects graphs to the equations of motion. The ErgoBot also comes with a variety of curricula to help teachers lead lessons in everything from vector navigation to programming.

“We appreciate the acknowledgement that the ErgoBot and PASCO’s line of wireless solutions are breaking new ground,” said Steven Korte, CEO of PASCO Scientific. “Sensor-based lab investigations provide rich opportunities for students to deepen their understanding and develop hands-on experience using tools like those used by real-life scientists and engineers.”

Earlier this year Tech & Learning honored PASCO’s wireless sensors as Best of Show winners for the International Society for Technology in Education 2016 Conference, the largest education technology conference in the nation. In recent months, the company’s products have also been recognized by the EdTech Digest Awards, GESS Education Awards, and BETT Awards.

PASCO has been designing, developing, and supporting innovative teaching and learning solutions for K–12 and higher education since 1964. PASCO’s team of educators, scientists, educational researchers, engineers, and many others is committed to the advancement of STEM education around the world. Today teachers and students in more than 100 countries use PASCO solutions.
