Modeling a Thermocline with the Density Circulation Model

See how PASCO's new Density Circulation Model (ME-6816) can be used to model and measure a thermocline.

Cool water (blue) and warm water (yellow) are placed in the model's two chambers, which are then connected to allow the two temperatures of water to gently form layers. The temperature is recorded as a function of depth and graphed to show the dramatic change in temperature across the boundary between the layers.
