The Science-with-Technology Education Pioneer (STEP) Program

What is PASCO’s STEP Program?

STEP is a program designed to help school districts and educational agencies develop their teaching staff through the effective integration of inquiry teaching practices with modern technology tools.

PASCO is committed to work with the education community so that together we can prepare students to meet the demands of the 21st century.

Based on over 40 years in technology-enabled science education, PASCO has developed a deep understanding of how modern technologies can positively impact science teaching and learning.

How Does STEP Benefit My District?

Science Education Consulting

PASCO consultants collaborate with STEP participants to refine their current science plans so that they more effectively move toward 21st century science education objectives.

Technology Trainer Certification

Focused on building local capacity, the PASCO Education Solutions group provides STEP participants with the technology training they need to support teachers who are teaching science with modern technology tools.

Professional Development

Extending technology training, the PASCO Education Solutions team works with teachers to integrate modern science tools and inquiry methods into their regular classroom practice.

Teacher Support

Participants have access to PASCO Teacher Support by phone, by email or in real-time on the web.

Online Learning Community

Participants will have access to PASCO’s online science education community, a web-based virtual environment through which science educators worldwide can share ideas and resources.

Proof-of-Concept Programs

A limited number of proof-of-concept programs will be implemented with select STEP participants that have well-defined initiatives that recognize the need for 21st century science solutions. STEP proof-of-concept participants will collaborate with PASCO to define a program that will help refine their initiatives to better ensure successful, large-scale deployment of a sustainable model designed to produce positive learning outcomes.
