About Project WET
PASCO is proud to partner with Project WET, the award-winning, international, nonprofit water science and education program. Together PASCO and Project WET are working to bring quality water education materials and water testing technology to teachers and students ages.

Project WET (Water Education for Teachers) facilitates and promotes awareness, appreciation, knowledge, and stewardship of water resources through the dissemination of classroom-ready teaching aids and the establishment of internationally sponsored Project WET programs.

Project WET offers programs in all 50 United States and the District of Columbia.

Project WET International has official programs in the U.S., Mexico, Canada, the Philippines, Palau, American Samoa, Northern Marianas Islands, South Korea and with the Peace Corps. Talks are under way with many other countries around the world about joining the Project WET team. Instructional Approach

Project WET materials are interdisciplinary, hands-on, minds-on teaching tools for educators teaching students ages 5-18 and beyond. All materials are designed to help educators and students engage and explore the world of water while complementing existing curricula and meeting curriculum objectives and educational standards. All materials are appropriate for use in formal and non-formal education settings.

How does the Project WET program work?

In each state Project WET is partnered with a natural resource agency, university, nature center or museum. An employee of this organization functions as a Project WET Coordinator who exclusively administers the program in their state. These Coordinators in turn train a network of facilitators, typically K-12 teachers and non-formal educators, who in turn provide water education workshops for classroom teachers, agency educators, resource managers, and non-formal educators. The Project WET grass-roots educator network is made up of over 70 state coordinators and co-coordinators, and over 3000 local facilitators.

Healthy Water, Healthy People
Water quality education program

Project WET's water quality education program Healthy Water, Healthy People (HWHP) offers innovative, teacher-tested materials designed to make complex water quality concepts understandable and relevant for both teachers and students. HWHP curriculum materials were developed by teachers working with water quality experts, and appeal to beginning and advanced educators alike.

The Healthy Water Healthy People Water Quality Educators Guide forms the foundation of the program, and contains 25 hands-on activities covering diverse water quality topics. Activities are cross referenced to the Healthy Water, Healthy People Testing Kit Manual, web sites, and National Science Education Standards for grades 6-12. Inquiry-based investigations promote individual understanding and integration of water quality principles. The HWHP Testing Kit Manual includes in-depth background information on 10 water quality parameters and much more. Probeware Kits for Project WET

PASCO and the Project WET team have integrated PASCO's award-winning probeware technology with the innovative hands-on curriculum of Healthy Water, Healthy People. These easy-to-use kits allow real-time data collection and monitoring in the field without a computer. Back in the classroom, data is easily uploaded to a computer if desired.
