Selecting a Region of Interest

Using DataStudio TIP OF THE MONTH -- December 2002

   When is this useful?

  • You want to fit a curve to only a certain region of your data.
  • You want statistical information (maximum, minimum, mean, etc) on only a certain portion of your data in a graph or table.





 Step 1:
  • Click and drag the mouse to draw a rectangle around the region of interest. (If you have more than one data run displayed, make sure you activate the run you wish to analyze by clicking on its name in the legend. The name of the active run is highlighted.)

Notice that the data points you selected become highlighted in yellow.


 Step 2:
  • Click the Fit button to open the menu of curve fit functions.

 Step 3:
  • In the Curve Fit menu, click on the type of Curve that you wish to fit to your selected data.
