Update from serial to USB

USB Conversion Cable (CI-6759A)

If your ScienceWorkshop interface (300, 500 and 750) output is serial, you can easily convert the interface to USB with the USB Conversion Cable. Not only does it convert to USB, it also enhances performance compared to the serial connection.

750 USB version

ScienceWorkshop 750 USB Interface (CI-7650)

This flagship interface is now available for USB computers.

What you have:

ScienceWorkshop Interfaces
ScienceWorkshop Sensors
DataStudio Software (1.9.5 or higher)

What you'll need:

PASPORT Interface(s)
Digital Adapter
Analog Adapter

PASCO has produced probeware solutions for science for more than 20 years. Today, PASCO continues to take advantage of changing technologies to produce the very best products for science education.

We also invest in helping our customers manage technological change. USB computers are now common in school environments, so PASCO now offers solutions to keep ScienceWorkshop probeware on pace with this change in computing technology.

The advancement of digital technology and USB connections also gave PASCO the opportunity to develop an entirely new line of probeware -- PASPORT PureDigital Probeware. All-digital technology allows our engineers to design some sensors that simply cannot be duplicated in ScienceWorkshop. This includes our line of MultiMeasure Sensors, which combine multiple measurements into a single sensor box for convenience and value.

PASPORT / ScienceWorkshop Adapters

To make these unique sensors available to ScienceWorkshop customers, PASCO has introduced the new PASPORT Digital Adapter (PS-2159) and Analog Adapter (PS-2158). These adapters allow any ScienceWorkshop sensor to plug into a PASPORT interface, making operating a mixed lab of both PASPORT and ScienceWorkshop sensors easier than ever.

Whether you are currently using ScienceWorkshop interfaces and you want to add a MultiMeasure Sensor to your lab; you want the incredible flexibility of the new Xplorer GLX (PS-2002); or you just want the convenience of USB connections, we have the solution to fit your needs.

Some common scenarios:

"Our physics lab is equipped with ScienceWorkshop 750 interfaces. I want to add a lab station where I can use the new PASPORT Quad Temperature Sensor for a demonstration of heat conduction through metal bars of different compositions.  In addition, I would like to use it to increase the number of workstations to utilize my existing ScienceWorkshop sensors."

Purchase any PASPORT interface along with the PASPORT Digital Adapter and Analog Adapter. With this setup, you can use the PASPORT Quad Temperature Sensor (PS-2143) or any PASPORT Sensor along with your existing ScienceWorkshop Sensors. There's no need to worry about the software -- DataStudio supports both ScienceWorkshop and PASPORT.

"The science lab at our school is equipped with computers and ScienceWorkshop lab stations.  Occasionally, I would like my students to be able to collect and analyze graphs away from the computer lab station. For example, I'd like to do the experiment where we measure the force created by a model rocket engine."

Purchase the new Xplorer GLX along with the PASPORT Digital Adapter and Analog Adapter, and you are ready to collect and analyze data with your ScienceWorkshop sensors almost anywhere. In addition, when you return to your lab you can download data from the Xplorer GLX to a computer so you can continue to use your existing DataStudio curriculum.

"I want to bring probeware into my chemistry course but I don't want computers in the wet lab. We also can't afford to duplicate sensor purchases in each science, so I will be using many of the ScienceWorkshop sensors that our physics program has already purchased."

The Xplorer GLX does not require a computer and is perfect for the wet lab. Purchase the Xplorer GLX and the PASPORT Digital Adapter and Analog Adapter. You can now leverage the range of ScienceWorkshop sensors your school already has, plus add new sensors for chemistry from the PASPORT line, like ourHigh Resolution pH/ISE/ORP with Temperature Sensor (PS-2147).
