• Before the lab, fill 8 resealable sandwich bags with sand. Vary the masses of the bags from 200 g to 350 g.
  • Make sure the students place the correct Motion Sensor either to the right or left of the track as explained in each set-up.
  • The Motion Sensors must point parallel to the track.
  • While the Xplorer GLX is recording data, students should stand back so as to not interfere with the Motion Sensors.
  • If plunger carts (with springs) are available, make sure students try the "explosion" collision.
