Experimental Setup for PASPORT:
- Connect the PASPORT interface to the USB port of the computer and plug both Force Sensors and the Voltage/Current Sensor into the interface.
- Hang each Force Sensor from a horizontal rod mounted on a large base/rod assembly. Hang a spring to each Force Sensor.
- Attach a small binder clip to the bottom of each spring. Clamp a magnet to each of the small binder clips. Press the "TARE" or "ZERO" button on each Force Sensor. Place a 7.0 cm long cardboard tube on the lab table beneath each magnet. Set a 3200-turn coil on top of each cardboard tube.
- Use one patch cord to connect the coils directly. At this point each coil should have one socket plugged and one unplugged.
- Attaching the Current Sensor in series with the coils: Use a patch cord to connect the unplugged socket of one coil to the positive terminal of the current sensor. Use another patch cord to connect the unplugged socket of the second coil to the negative terminal of the current sensor.
- Adjust the height of the horizontal rods so that the bottom ends of the magnets are just above the coils.
