1. Connect the 500 Interface to the serial port of the computer. Plug the Motion Sensor into digital channels 1 and 2.
   
   
2. Place the Motion Sensor on the ground and rotate the head of the sensor such that it points at the ceiling.
   
   
   Note: PASPORT sensors are used for experiment setup purposes only and are not compatible with the 500 Interface.
   
   
3. Make sure the Motion Sensor is on the cart (near) setting, if applicable.
   
   
4. Hold a flat object, such as a textbook, about 20 centimeters above the ground.
