The Water Quality ImagiLab includes 15 activities designed to encourage students to take an active interest in maintaining and improving the water quality in their local areas. The activities help students learn about watershed biology, the parameters necessary for evaluating the health of lakes, streams, estuaries, and a variety of methodologies for monitor -- and can all be conducted with just one sensor, the PASPORT Water Quality MultiMeasure Sensor.

Several activities from Water Quality ImagiLab involve measuring water quality in the field:

• Thermal Pollution
  -- Is there thermal pollution in your river or stream?
• Logging DO Concentration
  -- How does dissolved oxygen (DO) in a body of water change during a day?
• The pH Factor
  -- How does pH change during a day in a body of water?
• The Shade Factor
  -- How does shade influence temperature and oxygen levels in a stream?
• Flowing Water
  -- How does the amount of dissolved oxygen change in pools, riffles, and glides within your stream or river?
• Temperature Stratification
  -- How does water temperature vary with depth in your lake?

Simplify Chemical Water Analysis

PASCO's new ezSample™ water quality test kits simplify chemical testing of water sources anywhere. Avoid the mess and difficulty of handling chemicals directly, and get great results in the field! Each kit contains 30 individual tests.

ezSample Snap Vials

Conduct colorimetric tests in the field, and avoid the mess and tedium of mixing chemicals. These ezSample Snap Vials contain a vacuum-sealed color-forming reagent to test a variety of water quality parameters. Your water quality tests are easy. No more guessing at color variation!

1. Fill sample container
2. Snap tip of ampoule and sample instantly flows into tube.
3. Read concentration using Xplorer GLX and the Water Quality Colorimeter.

ezSample Field Titrators

PASCO also simplifies measurements that require titration. The ezSample Field Titrators are PASCO's solution for visual testing. Each Field Titrator contains a vacuum sealed quantity of titrant that, when titrated with a water quality sample, will cause a permanent color change, allowing you to read the concentration using the scale on the titret.

1. Collect sample
2. Titrate (gently squeeze lever to draw in fluid until color changes)
3. Read concentration visually using scale on titret.
