Lab #11 Impulse and Change in Momentum

Classically a change in momentum is described in two different ways. It is defines as an integration of force over time and as the product of mass and change of velocity. In this exploration, students use a Force Sensor and Motion Sensor to investigate this relationship by comparing the two directly.

Students monitoring force and velocity are able to compare the change of velocity of the cart with the force applied over the time of the collision.
