Ocean Optics Spectrometers
The Ocean Optics Red Tide Spectrometer is a low-cost, small-footprint lab spectrometer that's ideal as a general-purpose instrument for teaching and research labs. The Red Tide offers a 1 nm resolution over the wavelength range of 350-1000 nm (linear silicon CCD array with 650 active pixels).
Get complete spectrum scans in less than a second with the Red Tide Spectrometer and the Xplorer GLX.
Graph shows two absorption bands due to the two colors of food dye added to the water in the cuvette.
PASCO offers the Red Tide in two configurations:
Absorption Spectrometer System for the Xplorer GLX (PS-2642)
View full scan spectral data in real-time on the Xplorer GLX. This system includes the Ocean Optics Red Tide Spectrometer and a direct-attach light source and sample holder. The light source includes an LED-boosted tungsten source and a sample holder for 1-cm cuvettes that connects to the front of the spectrometer. Choose single wavelengths for Beer's Law studies or scan a single wavelength versus time for kinetic studies In this configuration, the system has a wavelength range of 370-980 nm. This system is a perfect fit for chemistry labs or a variety of field studies.
Includes:
- Ocean Optics Red Tide Spectrometer
- Light Source and Cuvette Holder
- 10 Plastic Cuvettes
- USB Cable
- License Key for Xplorer GLX Spectrometer Module
Light from a Hydrogen tube is sampled using the fiber optics cable connected to the Ocean Optics Red Tide Spectrometer. Wavelength peak is easily measured using the Smart Cursor on the Xplorer GLX.
Emissions Spectrometer System for the Xplorer GLX (PS-2635)
Use the Ocean Optics Red Tide Spectrometer to detect the spectrum through the included 2 meter fiber optics cable using a CCD linear array with 650 active pixels. The Xplorer GLX displays wavelengths in less than 1 second as intensity, absorbance, transmittance, or relative irradiance.See the unique pattern of emissions from spectral tubes and other light sources, and measure light absorption and reflectance on a variety of surface coatings.
Includes:
- Ocean Optics Red Tide Spectrometer
- Fiber Optics Cable (2 m)
- USB Cable
- License Key for Xplorer GLX Spectrometer Module
Here's what else you need:
Xplorer GLX graphing datalogger (PS-2002)
Already a great instrument in the chemistry lab, the Xplorer GLX provides you the option of spectroscopy even without a computer. Completely portable, the Xplorer GLX can display up to 2048 wavelengths in less than 1 second--use the Xplorer GLX with the Red Tide or other Ocean Optics spectrometers. Add sensors and the Xplorer GLX gives you powerful, convenient and affordable chemistry instrumentation for your teaching lab.
