High-Tech Titration -- March, 2003

Teacher Hints:

  1. The unknown hydrochloric acid solution should have a concentration between 0.110 M and 0.200 M for best results.

  2. You may wish to instruct students to add a few drops of an indicator solution to the beaker so that they can also monitor a color change as the titration proceeds.

  3. Caution students that even dilute acids and bases should be handled with care.
