Physiology: Exercise and Respiration Rate
Students will determine the effect that exercise has on pulmonary function.
The above graph shows the respiration rate of a person at rest. During inhalation, the expansion of the chest cavity causes an increase in pressure that is recorded by the sensor in the belt. Students should predict the effect that exercise will have on the respiration rate and collect additional data to verify their hypothesis.
