Demo of the upcoming SPARK application for iPhone and iPod touch
—featured at WWDC 2009
The SPARK application for the iPhone will offer a variety of experiments. Just select from the experiment browser and begin.
With PASCO's SPARK application for the Apple App Store students with an iPhone or iPod touch will be able to turn the whole world into a laboratory, making 21st century science measurements anytime, anywhere—at home, at school or at a nearby pond.
PASCO chief education officer, Dr. Wayne Grant, demonstrated the SPARK app during the 2009 Apple Worldwide Developer’s Conference.
The demonstration explored the physics of a balloon being filled with compressed air—all the way to the bursting point.
The balloon was connected to a source of compressed air while a PASPORT pressure sensor captured and fed pressure data to an iPod touch. As the balloon filled, the pressure versus time data was graphed in real time right on the iPod touch.
Want to see the balloon burst?
This video of the same demo was recorded at WWDC --watch the balloon fill and burst and see the collected data.
See your collected data graphed in real time right on your iPhone or iPod touch. This demonstration showed pressure versus time as the balloon filled with air.
